collage work 2018 - 2020
Magazines, newspapers, books, old engraved illustrations (19th century), as well as the artist’s own trial prints, became source materials for these collages, which triggered compositions of new realities. The collage process follows a peculiar logic of coincidence and fate, an absurd task, like trying to assemble a puzzle without matching pieces.
The resulting images are unexpected, sometimes humorous proposals that illustrate the artist’s view of the state of the world and the human condition. Are the works depicting the world as it is or was, as it could be or should be, or as it should be avoided? A range of interpretations is open to the viewers.
